Situated in the south west of Turkey, Bodrum has some of the finest beaches in Turkey, with the likes of Gumbet Beach, Bitez Beach, Yashi Beach and Camel Beach all jostling for tourists. Famous resorts like Gumbet, Altinkum, Torba, Turgutreis and Bitez are found in the Bodrum region of Turkey, and their superior quality hotels have attracted tourists for years.

In terms of ancient history, Bodrum like much of western Turkey has seen a few different civilisations on its shores. The Castle of St Peter stands picturesquely on the waterfront, and it is in the castle that you will find the renowned Museum of Underwater Archaeology.

Bodrum's harbour is reminiscent of the South of France and makes for a wonderful night-time spectacle. You can travel from here to Bardacki Cove quite easily by water taxi where you will find popular sunbathing spots and hotels.

On particularly warm days, you can take a boat tour to places like Rabbit Island and swim in the Aegean Sea which is usually temperate and quite calm, although caution and advice should always be taken when swimming.

The nightlife in Bodrum can be surprisingly lively, especially in the city itself as it resembles many other European tourist hotspots.
