Singapore has a very wet climate with significant rainfall in every month of the year; the wettest months being November to January. The high rainfall totals in these months are also associated with frequent thunderstorms and high humidity.

When is the best time to visit Singapore?

The best time to visit Singapore is from June through to September when the humidity levels are at their lowest and the days offer longer hours of sunshine.

Spring

If you are visiting Singapore in the spring then you can expect the hottest temperatures, with averages reaching 32 °C in April and March. Visitors to Singapore in the spring can also enjoy between 7 to 9 hours of sunshine.

Rainfall in Singapore in the spring is guaranteed, with as much as 184 mm expected in March dropping to 160 mm by late spring.

Summer

Singapore sees the least of its rainfall in the summer months, with as little as 126 mm expected in June. June to August are the least humid months though still a muggy 82%.

Visitors to Singapore in the summer can enjoy around 6 hours of daily sunshine and temperatures around 31 °C.

Autumn

The amount of rainfall in Singapore in the autumn rises month on month. The anticipated monthly rainfall starts from 125 mm in September, rises to 170 mm in October and sharply again to 243 mm in November.

By November, the average humidity levels in Singapore will have also increased to 85%. If you are visiting Singapore in the autumn, you can expect fewer hours of daily sunshine, with an average of 5 hours a day.

Winter

Singapore sees substantial rainfall in the winter months, with as much as 287 mm during December.

December offers the least amount of daily sunshine, with as little as 4 hours. This increases to 5 hours in January but picks up again to 6 hours by the end of February.

December is the most humid month of the year, with an average humidity level of 86%. February is the breeziest month, with an average wind speed of 6.3 mph. Despite the wind and the rain, temperatures will still remain around 30 °C throughout the winter.
