Autumn
Melbourne experiences autumn from March to May. The average daily maximum in March is a warm 25.0°C, but by May this has dropped to 17.8°C. As the temperatures drop, humidity rises, with May bringing an average relative humidity of 69%. As a result, daily hbours of sunshine begin to reduce with an average of 4 hours be per day by the end of the season. Rain is likely with monthly totals similar to that of the spring.
Winter
Australian winter occurs during June, July, and August. July sees the coldest temperatures, with average daily highs of 14.7°C. Although average rainfall is not too disimilar to that of the summer, there are a greater number of days with rain, as it falls under dull and cloudy days, as opposed to intense showers and thunderstorms seen in the summer.

The main mode of transport in Melbourne is the car as there is an extensive network of roads and freeways. Melbourne is home to several festivals which happen throughout the year. The Melbourne Rectangular Stadium hosts local rugby and football teams like the Melbourne Rebels and the Melbourne Victory; the latter of whom is the most popular and successful football team in the whole country. Bands like the Foo Fighters have also played at the Rectangular Stadium.
