Yorkshire & Humber weather forecast

Headline:

Early fog clearing. Warm sunny spells developing inland.

Today:

A murky start, with fog, low cloud and perhaps the odd shower. Fog should lift and cloud should retreat to coastal districts to leave a mainly fine day with warm sunny periods. Probably staying cooler near some coasts. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly fine during the evening, however fog and low cloud should move in from the east to affect many areas overnight. Becoming chilly in inland sheltered areas that remain clearer. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

Areas of fog and low cloud probably proving slower to retreat coastwards than on Saturday, but warm sunny periods still developing inland. Cooler near coasts, with an onshore breeze. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mainly fine on Monday after early cloud and fog clear but otherwise becoming more showery Tuesday, and perhaps more extensively wet and windy through Wednesday.

UK long range weather forecast

Most likely an unsettled start to the period with western showers and eastern rain, potentially heavy in the northeast, before a transient settled spell late in the week. Early in the bank holiday weekend a band of rain, heavy at times moves in from the west, becoming weaker as it moves east becoming more showery in nature with scattered showers also following. Into the new week increasingly settled conditions more likely for most, though rain may threaten north-western areas early on whilst some southern or eastern areas occasionally less settled with showers more likely later in the period though there will be some sunshine between times, the best of this in south-western parts. Temperatures are likely to be a little above average, but some large spatial differences are likely.

Updated:

There is nothing to suggest that conditions will be massively different to climatology at the end of the current month and though the first half of June. That said, both temperatures and rainfall are more-likely to be a little above average overall, with further rain or showers (possibly heavy/thundery at times) but also some spells of warm sunshine.
