Snow depth is measured using a snow depth sensor which measures the distance between the sensor and the ground beneath it.

For most of us it’s usually pretty exciting to see snow in the UK, because it doesn’t happen all that often. The reason for this is that we are surrounded by relatively warm seas, which can often keep our temperatures up.

In this article, we look at some of the snowiest places in the UK based upon how many days of the year on average they see snow falling.
