Today:
Wednesday seeing plenty of sunshine but feeling cold across the region. Brisk northwesterly winds will carry coastal wintry showers across some eastern counties. Dry further inland. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Tonight:
A very cold night with a penetrating overnight frost developing, particularly in rural areas. Winds decreasing mostly light but brisker near the coast. Minimum temperature -5 °C.
Thursday:
Thursday looks set to be a fine day with plenty of sunshine but remaining cold and frost will persist in shelter. Lighter winds away from coasts. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Friday probably cloudier with some brightness and mainly dry if cold. A milder and mainly cloudy weekend with some heavy rain at times. Very windy with gales, mainly affecting coasts.
