A cloudy evening with widespread mist and fog lingering across the Pennines and high ground beneath a blanket low cloud. Occasional clear intervals developing overnight but remaining dry and settled. Generally mild though locally chilly where skies clear. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday:

Another cloudy day with hill fog persisting into the day. A few spots of light drizzle in places beneath the thickest layer, though some brighter spells too. Winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

High pressure dominates, bringing a dry but cloudy week. Low cloud leads to persistent hill fog across high ground, though a few brighter breaks are possible too.

Mainly cloudy with some patchy light rain and drizzle moving southeast on Saturday morning. Sunny spells will develop to the west of this, although further rain will probably reach some parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland by the end of the day. This rain will spread southeast through Sunday while becoming increasingly light and patchy. Into the following week, a good deal of settled weather across the UK as high pressure builds back in. Most places should be dry, although some patchy light rain or drizzle could affect the far north at times. Light winds may allow overnight fog to form, this slow to clear during the day. Temperatures will probably be above average overall, although with some cold nights possible. By mid-month, possibly turning a little more unsettled.

Probably an unsettled spell for a time at the start of this period with some wet and maybe windy weather for parts of the UK, more so in central and southern areas. Low confidence by late November and early December, with uncertainty whether unsettled, wetter weather or drier and more settled conditions will dominate. Temperatures will probably be close to or above average overall, although some colder interludes are possible, especially in the north.
