Low cloud lying across the high ground brings widespread mist and fog through the morning, lifting into the afternoon with a few brighter breaks developing. Widely cloudy for most however, with patchy light rain spreading towards the southwest. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining rather cloudy for many, with further light rain and drizzle under the thickest layer. Patchy fog forming readily beneath intermittently clearer skies, and feeling cooler than recent nights. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Sunday:

Settled and rather cloudy, and feeling cooler than recent days. Some brighter spells developing through the afternoon, with a greater chance of sunny spells than recent days. Winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Remaining cloudy with high pressure continuing to bring settled weather. The odd spot of rain at times, though generally dry, with brighter interludes at times too. Feeling warmer each day.

High pressure is likely to dominate the weather across many parts of the UK during this period, bringing plenty of dry and settled weather for most, although it may be fairly cloudy at times. Where skies clear overnight some areas of fog, and perhaps frost, may develop. Southern and eastern areas are expected to be mainly dry through much of this period, while any more unsettled conditions and periods of rain are more likely to affect areas further north, particularly the north and northwest of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Winds will often be light in the south, but there could be some spells of strong winds across the north and west. Temperatures will probably be close to or warmer than normal overall, although some cold nights are possible at times.

After a settled start to November, beyond mid-month there will probably be a change towards more unsettled conditions for a time. This means an increased chance of periods of wet and windy weather for parts of the UK, perhaps more so in central and southern areas. However, there is low confidence whether unsettled, wetter weather or drier and more settled conditions will dominate by the end of the month. Temperatures will probably be close to or above average overall, although some colder interludes are possible, especially in the north.
