Misty this evening with widespread fog across the higher ground, as well as some light drizzle in places. Gentle winds and occasional clearer breaks developing in the north and west. Generally mild but locally chilly where skies stay clear. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Friday:

Another rather cloudy day with patchy light rain beneath the thickest layer and persistent hill fog across the mountains. One or two brighter breaks though, especially in the northwest. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rather grey on Saturday though most places staying dry. Some rain on Sunday. Winds turning north-westerly by Monday, bringing a cooler but brighter start to the new week.

Likely still a good deal of dry weather during the middle of next week. Most areas should be largely dry with a good chance of sunny spells but also scope for overnight frost in clearer areas. The influence of high pressure is likely to decline through the course of next week with an increasing chance of showers or longer spells of rain, initially more likely in the east. However, there is currently significant uncertainty in how quickly conditions turn more unsettled. Thereafter, likely more mixed conditions conditions with some wetter, windier weather at times but also some drier interludes bringing the chance of morning fog patches. Temperatures overall around average though with potential for some rather cold spells.

Signals vary in prevailing weather patterns through this period but likely more unsettled than during early November. There is a greater chance of more mobile weather patterns which would see Atlantic systems periodically move across the country. These bringing some wetter and windier interludes followed by drier periods. The wettest conditions likely across the northwest of the country with drier weather across the southeast. Some colder interludes possible but overall temperatures more likely to be around or above average.
