A fairly cloudy day with scattered showers, though many staying dry. More general rain arriving in north Wales during the afternoon spreading south during the evening. Feeling a bit colder. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Further rain this evening and continuing at times overnight. Clearer skies at times in northern areas with a slight frost possible here but temperatures holding up above freezing elsewhere. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Monday:

Cloudy with rain at times, this often persistent and heavy. Turning windier later with coastal gales possible by the evening. Chilly for much of the day but turning milder later. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Turning much colder with a mixture of sunny spells and occasional wintry showers. Frequent and heavy snow showers are possible at times, mainly in the north. Frost and ice overnight.

Cold or very cold conditions are expected across most if not all parts of the UK early in this period, with wintry showers affecting in particular northern parts and exposed coastal districts, although it may well be largely sunny inland. Overnight frost will be widespread and occasionally strong winds will result in significant wind chill. However, there is an increasing chance through the first weekend and into the following week of more organised areas of rain, snow and strong winds affecting many areas, this probably also associated with milder temperatures, at least in the south. Later in the period, conditions remain uncertain, but it is most likely to remain mostly unsettled with further spells of rain and snow.

Signals vary in prevailing weather patterns through early December. In general, there looks like a trend towards drier and more settled conditions, with high pressure potentially being the more dominant influence over the UK. However. there is also a chance of more changeable weather patterns, which would see Atlantic weather systems periodically move across the country. These will bring some wetter and windier interludes with a risk of some snow, especially for hills in the north. Temperatures generally close to average, perhaps a little above at times, especially in the south.
