A misty morning with hill fog lingering across the Moors beneath a blanket of low cloud. Some brighter breaks may develop this afternoon but remaining largely overcast for many with light winds and patchy light rain in the far southwest. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Light rain persisting in the southwest through this evening beneath a thick layer of low cloud. Widely cloudy elsewhere with light and variable winds overnight. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday:

Another cloudy day with persistent hill fog thick enough across the southwest to produce the odd spot of light rain. Some brighter breaks further east but remaining largely overcast. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

A settled end to the week. Widely cloudy with the odd spot of light rain on Thursday, turning brighter and breezier on Friday with some sunny spells developing on Saturday.

A band of rain across western and northern parts of the UK will move steadily southeast during Sunday, the rain becoming increasingly light and patchy with time. Next week will see a good deal of dry, settled weather as high pressure builds across the UK. However, after a reasonably bright start, increasingly cloudy conditions are likely to develop, with patchy drizzle possible at times and also some fog patches, these slow to clear. After a windy spell across northwestern parts on Sunday, winds will become mainly light, but breezier around the periphery of the UK, especially in the north later. Temperatures will be near or a little above average overall, although some cold nights are possible. From mid-month, possibly turning a little more unsettled, more particularly towards the northwest.

Probably an unsettled spell for a time at the start of this period with some wet and maybe windy weather for parts of the UK, more so in central and southern areas. Low confidence by late November and early December, with uncertainty whether unsettled, wetter weather or drier and more settled conditions will dominate. Temperatures will probably be close to or above average overall, although some colder interludes are possible, especially in the north.
