This tool is a collaboration with the BBC. It combines our climate projections and records to visualise climate change in the UK.

Human activity is having an increasing impact on our environment and the world we live in, while natural variations continue to influence our climate. This can affect the availability of fresh water, food security, health, and our wider social and economic infrastructure. As a global leader in climate science, the Met Office provide weather and climate consultancy and services to respond to a changing climate.

Different regions across the UK create varying levels of emissions. The National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI) contains a map of UK emissions, including greenhouse gases and air pollutants. This is overseen by the Greenhouse Gas Inventory team at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). There are also the key statistics showing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants in the UK on the gov.uk website.
